Scullville Vol Fire Dept Cancels Halloween Junkyard Attraction

There will be no Terror in the Junkyard this year.

The Scullville Volunteer Fire company made the announcement Monday canceling the 19th annual Halloween attraction and fire company fundraiser because of lingering health concerns from the coronavirus.

The Scullville Volunteer Fire Company released a Facebook statement saying...

"Regrettably, we must inform you that this years Scullville Terror in the Junkyard has been cancelled. As you all know, public safety is our NUMBER ONE priority."

The haunted hayride and maze, held at Flemings Junkyard on Zion Road in Egg Harbor Township, has become one of the area's most popular Halloween attractions over the past 18 years as well as a major fundraiser for the volunteer fire company.

It is also a rite of Fall for the firemen and actors who make up the cast of the month-long Halloween production and the crowds of fans who plan their weekend around a trip to Scullville. Not this year, however.

The dark and creative forces behind Terror in The Junkyard are promising not to sit idly by during the off-year, and to work overtime to make the 2021 Terror in the Junkyard one to remember with a blood-curdling scream.

Although the hayride won't be going on as planned, it doesn't mean we're taking a year off. We're going to use this break in the action to work on infrastructure, new haunts, and anything else we can cook up in the mean time to make next year's return bigger and scarier than ever. Thank you all for your support over the years and we absolutely can not wait to see you next year!
