Many people responding to the initial news of the accident commented that the intersection is dangerous and should have blinking lights for the bike path crossing.

I have been saying for years that the Ocean heights bike path crossing is dangerous, it needs a blinking red stop sign and a signal button like the one on Tilton Road and bike path.

I actually live about three blocks from that blinking light and can't even count how many times I've pushed the button and stood there while cars ignored the blinking lights and kept driving!

I couldn’t tell you how many cars don’t stop for bicyclists at that intersection with the bike path.
