Authorities are investigating how over 7000 gallons of raw sewage ended up in Woodbury Creek.

NJ.com reports that 7500 gallons of gunk was dumped into Woodbury Creek in Woodbury, Gloucester County earlier this month. A representative from the Department of Environmental Protection declared that the next step in the process would be an issuing of a Notice of Violation.

So far, though, neither the county not state has been available for further comment, so there's no confirmation of how the spill ended up in the creek. The Gloucester County Utilities Authority is responsible for the ethical disposal of over 6.3 billion gallons of waste yearly according to NJ.com, so hopefully this was all an accident.
