The Egyptian style music video for Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' is causing some controversy, to the tune of more than 40,000 petition signatures!

In this video, Katy is dressed up as an Egyptian queen, and random men who hope to gain her approval bear gifts.  The gifts never end up working out, and she ends up turning each dude into sand.

In one particular scene, a suitor is wearing a gold pendant that displays the name of God, or Allah, written in Arabic. After she accepts his lavish diamond gift, she thanks him by causing lightning to strike and disintegrate him.  (Nothing says 'I Love You' then disintegrating your man)

The petition states, "A man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah'...blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames." (Daily Mail)

Personally, I love the song.  As far as the video, 'offensive' didn't really cross my mind.  You have to practically move the video in slow motion to see what the ruckus is about.  But overall,  I feel like the video is just straight up weird.  Just my opinion here, I still love you Katy!

What do you think?
