Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr. is being presented by Northfield's Be You Arts Academy Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd at Byrne Plaza Amphitheatre on Pacific Avenue in Wildwood.

Whether your kids are new to the story of Matilda Wormwood or know and love it and want to enjoy it in a new way, the production at Byrne Plaza (with cooperation from Music Theatre International in New York) will be a special occasion for the whole family.

Matilda, with her smarts and psychokinetic powers, feels misunderstood by most she encounters, most especially her school's headmistress Miss Trunchbull. Your kids can watch the two face off as Matilda determines to prove that 'even if you are little you can do a lot'. An amazing message for kids to take home with them.

Be You Arts Academy's director Danielle Brindisi thinks the story of Matilda is quite relevant at the moment, saying, 'In the current state of the world, when so many unknowns are controlling our lives, we can easily lose site of the fact that no matter how little we may feel, we hold the power to create our reality.'

Byrne Plaza is located at 3400 Pacific Ave. (between Oak & Cedar Ave.) in Wildwood. This is an outdoor event with an amphitheater setting with a maximum attendance of 90 guests. You must bring your own chairs. Face masks are social distancing are strongly suggested.

Matilda showtimes are Sat. May 1st at 2p, 4p, and 6p, and Sun. May 2nd at 2p and 4p. Tickets are $15/person.
