The New Jersey Forest Fire Service responded to an active wildfire off Route 539 in Machester Township, Ocean County at about 7 pm on Tuesday.

The fire, in the area of Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst, is reported to be threatening structures and forcing the closure of roads.

Route 539 is closed in the area of Route 70, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a large fire damaged several trailer units at Seaville Shores Campground on Corson Tavern Road in Upper Township, Cape May County.

The 2-alarm blaze was brought under control in about 90 minutes, according to 6ABC.
