A published report is giving details of a $200,000 settlement Ocean City reached  in the civil lawsuit charging a retired Ocean City cop with having sex with a high school student while she worked as a beach tag checker under his supervision.

According to NJ Civil Settlements, the suit claimed that retired Ocean City police officer Charles Cusack was hired to provide security at Ocean City High School in 2012 and began to have inappropriate interaction with the girl, who was a junior at the time.

Cusack is more than 30 years older than the girl, who was a 2013 graduate of Ocean City High School.

The following summer, when Cusack was working as a beach supervisor, he hired the girl as a tag checker, and he began forcing her to perform sexual acts and "rough" sex that involved him "choking her," according to a complaint also published by NJ Civil Settlements.

The settlement agreement took place in October 2016

In the 2016 criminal case related to this relationship, Cusack was sentenced to probation and forced to register as a sexual predator after pleading guilty in Cape May County  Superior Court  to criminal sexual contact with the girl, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
