A man who police say was driving under the influence during a crash that killed a woman in Salem County in 2019 has surrendered.

Authorities say 47-year-old Robert Gunn Jr., of Hackensack, surrendered to State Troopers after seeing a social media post seeking the public’s assistance with his whereabouts.

According to the New Jersey State Police, on September 28, 2019, detectives with the State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit determined Gunn was driving a Dodge Ram 3500 north on County Route 635 in Upper Pittsgrove Township, Salem County.

An investigation revealed Gunn entered the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Hyundai Elantra occupied by 51-year-old Polly and 52-year-old Robert Tornari, both of Glassboro. Polly was pronounced dead at the scene and Robert was transported to Cooper University Hospital in serious condition.

Detectives determined that Gunn was under the influence at the time of the crash and charged him with vehicular homicide on June 16th.
