Disgruntled Philadelphia Eagles Fan Chucks Popcorn at Coach Nick Sirianni in Tampa Bay, FL
To call Philadelphia Eagles fans 'unhappy' upon being beaten by Tampa Bay in the playoffs is an understatement. It's clear most of their anger is being directed at head coach Nick Sirianni who got a popcorn shower after Monday night's loss.
I think getting any kind of food thrown at you, like what happened to Sirianni (you'll see below) is the ultimate insult.
From Bad to Worse
The Philadelphia Eagles were full of promise going earning 11 wins this season.
But as the playoffs loomed the Birds couldn't seem to secure a win so save their lives, losing to two of the worst teams in the league, the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants.
Super Bowl Run Comes to an End in Tampa Bay
The NFL Wild Card Round did not represent a triumphant return for the Eagles. Fans had hoped the team would get its shizz together, rally, and deliver a win that would put us back in the run for another Super Bowl.
But minus AJ Brown the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders and the defense couldn't stop Bucs QB Baker Mayfield.
The Eagles lost in spectacular fashion. The final score: 32-9.
Showdown Behind-the-Scenes
There's been rampant speculation that in the locker room, the brotherhood amongst the Eagles players had become to show holes.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts was reportedly hearing all about frustrations coming from teammates on both sides of the ball, and Nick Sirianni's name was reportedly being thrown around in a less than positive way.
Fans Calling for a Firing
As Nick Sirianni exited the field at Raymond James Stadium, he was met by angry fans. One disgruntled Eagles fan screamed at Sirianni, 'You're done, Nick! You're done!' and threw popcorn on him as he retreated to the locker room. See the clip below (posted by The 33rd Team on X.
