New Jersey Teen Charged with Murder After Suffocating Baby

An 18-year-old New Jersey high school student has been charged with killing her newborn child and having it dumped in a trash can.

Jada M. McClain, of Neptune Twp., who reportedly hid her pregnancy from her family, made premeditated plans with the baby's father to kill the infant upon it's birth.

McClain followed through after giving birth on March 29th, and 17-year-old Quaimere Mohammed disposed of the baby boy in a dumpster behind McClain's apartment complex in Monmouth County, according to NJ.com. Mohammed faces 2nd degree disturbing or desecrating human remains.

Sources close to McClain told police the teen tried several ways of harming herself in hopes of terminating the pregnancy.
