New Jersey Man Dies After Being Struck by Lightning in Pennsylvania
A lightning strike near an eastern Pennsylvania lake resulted in a New Jersey man's death and two people injured.
6abc News reports, 38-year-old Jose Lopez-Hernandez of Camden, was swimming at Beltzville State Park around 7 p.m. when the incident occurred.
Investigators indicate he may have gotten out of the water, but soon became unresponsive when he made it to the beach area. Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Jose passed away at Lehigh-Valley Cedar Crest.
According to the park manager, two to three other people are also being treated for injuries.
I was actually stuck in this storm on Saturday night, and it was not a pretty sight. The lightning strikes were reaching the ground! Hopefully those injured have a full recovery.
