New Jersey Halting Most Indoor Sports Until January
New Jersey is placing new restrictions on indoor sports due to the rise in positive cases of coronavirus in the state.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced the restrictions Monday during a press briefing. As of 6 a.m. on Friday, December 5, indoor sports at the high school, youth, and adult recreation level will be placed on hiatus until January 2.
Outdoors gatherings will also face new restrictions starting on Monday, December 7, limiting the number of guests or diners to 25. There are exemptions for funerals, memorial services, wedding, and religious or political functions.

Murphy's latest order reportedly does not affect indoor college or professional sports, according to 6abc.com.
The governor stated 3,199 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in New Jersey on Monday, and that another 15 deaths were reported due to the virus, along with more grim statistics as the pandemic rages on.
Sadly, we must report 15 additional #COVID19 deaths, bringing our statewide total to 15,164.
The number of probable deaths is 1,829.

As for an update on a coronavirus vaccine, Moderna Inc. has reportedly asked U.S. and European pharmaceutical regulators to allow emergency use of the vaccine its created, claiming they have even more evidence that it offers strong protection.
