Need a Job? Wawa Looks to Hire 5,000 People
If you're looking for a job, look no further than Wawa. The convenience store chain has announced they are looking to hire 5,000 people for part- and full-time positions over the next three months.
Wawa says the new positions are thanks to seasonal and store growth and they are looking for people who want to work in customer service-level positions and also in supervisory and management-level jobs.
Stephanie Capaccio, Director of People Team Operations for Wawa, said in a press release, "At Wawa, we have made a commitment to providing needed products and services and our associates have enabled us to play an essential role in our communities during the past year. As we continue to grow our stores, services and product offer, we are thrilled to announce a number of new jobs and advancement opportunities for our associates." She continued, "Beyond adding new stores in 2021, Wawa has exciting future plans that provide our communities with more convenience than ever before."
Wawa is currently offering a $75 incentive for associates that receive a COVID-19 vaccine and new hires in some positions will be offered a $125 bonus starting April 1st and ending June 15th.
As of this year, according to the chain, Wawa employs 37,000 people and operates over 650 stores in six states and Washington, DC.
