Naked? Curious Articles of Clothing Found Along a NJ Highway
If you are missing your skimpy bathing suit, I know where it is.
Actually, most of Atlantic County knows where it is at this point.
You know how you sometimes see a random shoe on the side of the road (and why is it only one shoe -- a pair of shoes never seems to get lost at the same time)? Well, this is a bit more than that (not much more).
I saw some people discussing this on Facebook the other night and I had to check it out for myself (under the guise of hard-hitting investigating journalism).
What people were discussing was a bikini that was hanging on the side of Route 50 in Estell Manor.
For those that know that area, Route 50 goes through the middle of nowhere. Lots of people use it in the summer to get between the shore and Mays Landing -- and, perhaps, that is where this bikini came from.
Intrigued, I woke up earlier than normal and drove out to the middle of nowhere, and sure enough, properly mounted to a pine tree on the side of Route 50 is a blue bikini, on display in all of its faded glory.
First of all, how did that bikini find itself on the side of the road -- assuming it either fell out of or blew out of someone's car. And, secondly, kudos to the person who properly mounted it the same way one would find a deer or something mounted above a fireplace in a man cave.
I'm not going to begin to guess how it got there or who put it there but at the very least there is something entertaining to look for along Route 50. And Estell Manor now has a landmark. A rather skimpy one at that.
