Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s Families Have Reportedly ‘Urged’ Them to Reconsider Divorce
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's families want them to "take some time to breathe" before filing for divorce.
The "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer and Hunger Games actor called it quits last week after less than one year of marriage. Cyrus' rep later confirmed the split in a statement: "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."
Things then got a little messy when the pop star was spotted kissing Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter during a recent girls trip to Lake Como. However, she and Hemsworth have been on-again, off-again for over a decade, so it's not surprising their parents are reportedly urging them to reconsider the split.
"Their families have urged them to take some time to breathe before they make any final decisions," a source told E! News. "They are both upset about how this has blown up and are both hurting right now."
But, as Cyrus seemingly revealed in her new song, “Slide Away,” things between her and Hemsworth just aren't the same. So if there any hope for the couple? People reports Cyrus isn't in a rush to make any permanent decisions about their relationship, with sourcing claiming there's "definitely a chance they will get back together."
“They are having a break right now because they needed it. It was a bad situation with a lot of disagreements,” a source said. “But this doesn’t mean their relationship is completely over.”
"[They're] trying not to communicate and really give each other space," another added. "Neither Miley or Liam have decided when they are going to take the next step of filing for divorce because there is a chance of reconciliation."
It looks like the couple's future together might still be up in the air...
