Marine Happy to Hold Fiancee’s Hand After Double-Arm Transplant
Former Marine sergeant, John Peck, receives a double-arm transplant after losing his arms and legs while serving in Afghanistan.
John underwent the 14-hour transplant surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston in August. Although it will take almost a year for his nerves to be fully functional, John tells everyone how happy he is to be able to hold his fiancee's hand.
John lost his limbs in May 2010 after an explosion during a search mission while in Afghanistan's Helmand province.
During a press conference, John shares his condolences and gratitude towards his donor and his family. Now, he's able to pursue his dream to become a celebrity chef.
If you have some time today, read his remarkable story. We are so happy he is doing well, and thank him, and our military personnel, for everything they do for this country.
