Mariah Carey Pays Tribute to Devoted Fan Killed in Manchester Bombing
Mariah Carey, who once beautifully professed: "And I know you're shining down on me from heaven, like so many friends we lost along the way," is honoring a devoted fan who was killed in a May 22 bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
The attack, which left 22 dead and injured close to 60, claimed the life of Martyn Hett, a beloved member of The Lambily, a hilarious YouTube personality and a PR manager. And Carey, who had, herself, been moved by Hett's infectious personality, shared a tribute to him on Instagram.
"Devastated to learn that one of the victims in Manchester was part of the #Lambily. RIP Martyn Hett. We will cherish your memory forever. His family and all the families affected are in my thoughts and prayers. MC," Carey wrote with the image, which drew similar outpourings of love from her fans and followers of Hett's, too.
"He's such a beautiful soul. Thank you so much Mariah, for doing this. I bet he is smiling from up above knowing that his hero and idol acknowledges him," one wrote, while another noted "Martyn would have been THRILLED!"
