Major Renovations Coming to Wildwood Boardwalk

One of the most famous boardwalks in all of America is getting a major face lift for Summer 2018.

Shore News Today reports that a major renovation project is coming to the iconic boardwalk. Wildwood and North Wildwood officials are in the planning stages to refurbish the boards. The major overhaul would include replacing rotting wood and concrete under the boardwalk itself.

According to officials, replacing just one block of the famous boardwalk could cost between $800,000 and $1 million dollars. There is no projected date on when the revamp of the boards will be completed.

Wildwood is one of my all-time favorite boardwalks. I recently got to spend some time walking the boards earlier in the summer. My summer is just not complete if I don't hear "watch the tram car please" at least once. I did notice some parts of the boards that could really use some help though, so I'm excited to see what it'll look like this time next year!
