For the second time this year, lottery fever is taking over in New Jersey, and this time the Powerball is responsible!

There has not been a winner of the 42-state Powerball lottery since October 3rd (when a Delawarean hit for $50 Million), and Saturday's drawing for $325 Million saw 9 runner-up winners by getting 5 numbers without matching the 6th and final ball - the Powerball (each winner taking home $1 - $2 Million).

This is now the 2nd time this year a lottery has exceeded a $400 Million jackpot, and these two moments are the only times in lottery history this has happened.  Back in April, the Mega Millions jackpot reached $656 Million, setting a record for the highest jackpot in lottery history.

As the lottery sales increase, the Powerball jackpot has increased since its initial $425 Million that $was set after no winner over the weekend.  As of Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 27), the Powerball jackpot has reached $500 MILLION!  SoJO 104.9 will have more updates on this thanks to the New Jersey Lottery.

You have until Wednesday night to get your tickets, but move fast - lines are already starting at many retailers who sell New Jersey Lottery tickets.  No time to wait - make your purchase!  Tickets are on-sale for $2 - $3 if you add the "Power Play" which increases the payout on consolation prizes.
