It's always sad to hear when a band you grew up with has decided to call it quits.

It's very personal.  Each band that announces their farewell tour marks another day we are further from our youth.

Most recently we've seen the likes of Elton John, KISS, and Genesis embark on their farewell tours.  We've also seen various solo performers retire and sadly we've seen many either get ill and unable to perform or die.

Today comes news that the legendary Eagles will be going out for one more tour.

Now Eagles are a great band that's been at it on and off for over 50 years.  They've also provided fans with some very public dysfunctional wars.  We've heard them tell us its over before.

At one point, Don Henley was asked during an interview if he thought it was possible for the band to work out their differences and get back together.  His response was, "When Hell Freezes Over."

Then something interesting happened.  The band did reunite, and in 1994, they released a live album appropriately titled, Hell Freezes Over.

Through the years, the band managed to stay together and make great music, all the while dealing with all kinds of ups and downs that families endure.

The 2000's weren't without more Eagles' stories.  Don Felder sued the band in a particularly nasty feud.  Then the band was rocked by the death of founding Eagles member Glenn Frey in 2016.

But not was all bad.  Joe Walsh got sober, which probably saved his life.  Frey's son Deacon joined the band for a bit and admirably stood in for his dad, and the band has played to sold out venues worldwide.
