Lady Gaga Emotional During ‘Shallow’ Golden Globes 2019 Win
Lady Gaga got emotional during the Golden Globes while accepting the award for Best Song alongside Mark Ronson for "Shallow" from A Star is Born.
Ronson stepped up to the mic first, thanking Bradley Cooper for directing the film. Gaga, 32, then took over, taking a moment to discuss her experience as a woman in the music industry. She quickly became emotional, holding back tears as she spoke.
"As a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a musician and a songwriter and these...incredible men, they lifted me up and they supported me," she said.
This is Gaga's second Golden Globe win. She took home her first for American Horror Story: Hotel in 2016. The singer-actress is nominated for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama, too.
The A Star is Born soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, making Gaga the first woman in history to have five No. 1 albums in the current decade.
"Shallow" beat out "All the Stars" from Black Panther, "Girl in the Movies" from Dumplin', "Revelation" from Boy Erased, and "Requiem for a Private War" from A Private War.
