Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande Fight Over New Jersey Teen on ‘The Voice’
A 13-year-old girl from New Jersey made quite the impression on the coaches during her audition on NBC's The Voice.
To say Hailey Mia, from Clifton N.J. in Passaic County, blew Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande away would be an understatement. In fact, Mia found herself in a tug of war between the two coaches, pop stars in their own right, who both wanted to teen to join their team for the season, NJ.com reports.
After giving a goosebump-inducing performance of the Tate McRae hit 'You Broke Me First,' both Clarkson and Grande turned their chairs around, stunned to find a teenage girl on stage and not a grown woman, with Kelly exclaiming, “I literally thought I was turning around for a 24-year-old."
Ariana echoed Kelly's sentiment saying, “I could tell that you were young, but not this young."
Grande went on to say, "You’re just going to continue to flourish and I’d love to help you get there.” That was enough for Hailey Mia to choose to join Team Ariana.
