Jersey Man Wins $1.1M on $5 Wager at Tropicana, Tips Dealers $50K

A Jersey guy had the weekend of his life this President's Day Weekend at Tropicana Casino and Resort Atlantic City.

Frank Nagy from Monmouth County got rich Saturday afternoon when he placed a $5 bet at Tropicana Casino and hit a $1.1 million MEGA jackpot on a progressive poker game.

The win marked the largest jackpot on a progressive poker game in the history of the casino’s parent company, Caesars Entertainment. The last time the jackpot was hit was in August 2019.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this huge win with one of our longtime customers at Tropicana,” said Steve Callender, Regional President for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City. “This weekend’s MEGA jackpot is the latest example of the power of Caesars Rewards and our portfolio of resorts in the market, offering guests more ways to earn and redeem rewards – and win – in Atlantic City.”

Here's our favorite part about Frank winning the money. According to Noel Stevenson, spokesperson for Caesars Entertainment, which owns Tropicana, after his big win, Frank Nagy offered a generous $50,000 tip to the dealers on shift. How great is that?

In order to be eligible, guests had to try their luck on a progressive game at Tropicana, Caesars, or Harrah’s Resort, which includes Four Card Poker, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Mississippi Stud Poker, and Texas Hold’em Poker, located in each casino’s table games section.

After Frank's win, we got to wondering if maybe he had a special system he used to win. It turns out - probably not.
