Graphic Body Cam Video of Vineland, NJ, Police-involved Shooting Released
Authorities in Cumberland County have released body cam video footage from a Vineland police officer who shot a man last month.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says on the morning of Friday, May 5th, an officer with the Vineland Police Department was called to the 500 block of E. Birch Street where he encountered a man armed with a large knife.
Officials say the man, 28-year-old Luis R. Conde-Perez, is alleged to have charged towards the officer and a civilian, resulting in the officer shooting Conde-Perez twice.
Conde-Perez was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden for treatment. The wounded civilian was also treated at Cooper and released.
Conde-Perez has been charged with criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and weapons-related offenses and is presently detained.
Late Friday afternoon, authorities released footage from the officer's body-worn camera.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and being conducted by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Professional Standards Unit.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
