A Middlesex County man is headed to prison for his role in an attempted robbery in New Brunswick where the victim was shot 14 times.

23-year-old Jonathan Rosales of New Brunswick previously pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and attempted Hobbs Act robbery.

On Thursday, he was sentenced to 108 months, or 9 years, in prison.

Authorities say on December 28th, 2020, Rosales, along with his accomplices, Saul Peralta and Giovanni Hoyos-Jaimes, attempted to rob a victim in New Brunswick. During a struggle, the victim was shot 14 times causing him to sustain serious injuries.

Peralta and Hoyos-Jaimes both previously pleaded guilty for their involvement in this incident.

Peralta was sentenced to 78 months in prison and Hoyos-Jaimes is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
