Shoplifter threatens to shoot Walmart worker, runs across Route 42: Washington Twp., NJ, Police
A Sicklerville woman is facing a list of charges including aggravated assault on police following an alleged shoplifting incident in Gloucester County.
The Washington Township Police Department says at about 8:45 this past Saturday night, they received a call from Walmart in Turnersville regarding a shoplifter.
According to authorities, that shoplifter, later identified as Ivory Ajamu of Sicklerville, told a loss prevention worker at the store that she was going to “shoot him up.”
Ofc. Marc Wolfe was first to arrive at the store and he located the suspect and her vehicle in the parking lot.
Ofc. Wolfe stopped the vehicle in the parking lot and then radioed that he was in a 'foot pursuit.' The suspect fled on foot across 6 lanes of traffic on SH42. Ofc. Wolfe took the subject into custody in the parking lot of the Turnersville Auto Toyota Dealership.
The officer was not injured.
Ajamu was processed and turned over to the Salem County Jail.
