Yesterday, we broke the story about a traffic stop in Atlantic City, New Jersey involving a member of the immigration group El Pueblo Unido.

The group believes that it was being targeted by the Atlantic City Police Department. They promised that a protest would follow.

Sarkos has forcefully denied the allegation.

The Atlantic City Police Department is aware of a recent Facebook post by El Pueblo Unido regarding a motor vehicle stop conducted by an Atlantic City police officer. The post creates a misleading impression about why the vehicle was stopped and the actions taken by the officer. The facts are straightforward: the officer personally observed a dangerous motor vehicle violation that created a serious risk to the safety of the public. For transparency, we are releasing a video taken from a city surveillance camera of the motor vehicle violation in question. The officer did exactly what our officers are trained, sworn, and expected to do. He conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing dangerous driving and issued the appropriate summons, said Sarkos.

Multiple people were arrested, including Christian Moreno in anti-ICE protest clash with the Atlantic City Police Department today. One pro-Atlantic City Police protester was peppered sprayed and assaulted by members protesting ICE, said Bailey.
