Mays Landing, NJ Man Is Guilty Of Domestic Violence On 2 Victims

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Mays Landing, New Jersey man has pled guilty to domestic violence on two different women.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Revealed

On Friday, February 27, 2026, Jerry Vargas-Perez, 27, from Mays Landing, NJ, pled guilty to two counts of second-degree aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim before the Honorable Joseph Levin, J.S.C.. The plea calls for a sentence of five years in New Jersey State prison subject to an 85% period of parole ineligibility pursuant to the No Early Release Act, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Another Successful Collaboration With The Atlantic City Police Department

The Atlantic City Police Department responded The area of north Providence and Winchester Avenues on November 26, 2022.

The Atlantic City Police Officers responded because of a domestic violence assault. The investigation yielded that Vargas-Perez had strangled the victim until she nearly passed out.

Vargas-Perez was arrested on scene. The Atlantic City Police filed a motion by the State to detain the defendant, which was denied by the Court.

A Second Domestic Violence Assault

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said the following about the second incident:

On July 6, 2024, Hamilton Township Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Kenwood Court in response to a domestic violence assault on a different victim. Again, investigators learned defendant placed his hands around the victim's neck and strangled her until she could not breathe. Vargas-Perez was again arrested on scene, and the Court granted the State's second motion to detain the defendant, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
