A juvenile has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection to a stabbing on the boardwalk in Ocean City over Memorial Day weekend.
The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office says on Tuesday with assistance from both the Hamilton Township and Pleasantville Police Departments, the unidentified suspect was located and taken into custody in Pleasantville.
That juvenile has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, and related weapons offenses.
It was on Saturday night, May 25th, when the Ocean City Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding an assault that took place on the boardwalk.
It was later determined that a group of youngsters engaged in a fight resulting in a juvenile being stabbed in his abdomen.
The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City and treated for his injuries.
Through witness interviews, surveillance footage review, and other investigative analysis, detectives were able to identify a suspect who is now being held in a detention facility pending court proceedings.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
