The Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Police Department has confirmed that a motorcycle crash followed by a fatal pedestrian crash has occurred.

“On Saturday, May 11, 2024 at approximately 2344 hours, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to US 40 Black Horse Pike in front of Story Book Land (6415 Black Horse Pike),” said the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

Further, the Egg Harbor Township Police has confirmed that:

A 2004 Honda Motorcycle operated by James Geloso (58 year-old male of Pitman) was eastbound on the Black Horse Pike in front of Story Book Land when the motorcycle traveled off the roadway to the left and onto the grass median. The motorcycle rider lost control at this time, struck a sign support and capsized onto its side, sending both the motorcycle and rider tumbling into the inside lane of the Black Horse Pike.

A witness called 911 and reported the crash to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, when the witnesses saw the downed motorcycle rider on the road.

“A few moments later as the witness was on the phone with 911 dispatchers, a 2018 Cadillac XTS driven by Thomas Langford (63 year-old male of Egg Harbor Township), struck both the motorcycle and rider as they were laying in the roadway,” said the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has confirmed that, “As a result of the crashes, Mr. Geloso suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.”

  • New Jersey State Department of Transportation Traffic Incident Team.

The crash was investigated by:

  • Officer Joe Ricevuto
  • Officer Nick Poletis
  • Sergeant Ed Stearns of the Traffic Safety Unit.

The investigation is continuing. Traffic was detoured in the area for about 5 hours, during the investigation and clearing the scene.
