Fatal Car Crash In Mays Landing, New Jersey [Exclusive Photos]
We have confirmed that a fatal car crash has occurred in Hamilton Township, (Mays Landing, Atlantic County), New Jersey on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at approximately 7:40 a.m.
The fatal head-on crash — involving a luxury SUV and a sedan — occurred on Route 50.
Don Purdy wrote the following comments on a post written by former Hamilton Township Mayor John Sacchinelli as follows:

The details that I am willing to release are a scant few at this time. This is a developing story and we will provide comments from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (which I have requested for in writing) immediately upon receipt.
This much, I will say … the details surrounding these fatalities are tragic and disturbing in nature and this fatal crash should have never happened.
We have an eye witness who was on the scene this morning and below are exclusive photos that we can share at this time.
Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies Are Working This Incident

- Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
- Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

it is the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office that takes the lead position during such investigations, involving a death(s). And, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office involves the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office when and where they deem necessary.
