Egg Harbor City Man Gets 15-year Prison Sentence
Egg Harbor City, N.J. — An Egg Harbor City man is headed to prison for well over a decade for his involvement in several drug distribution networks.
On Monday, 35-year-old Robert Strong was sentenced to an aggregate term of 15 years in state prison.
He was charged in 2021 for his involvement in a large-scale drug distribution racketeering organization. Strong pleaded guilty to participating as a leader of the network, and in exchange, agreed to be sentenced to 15 years with 7 1/2-years without the possibility of parole.
Operation Spanned Multiple Atlantic County Cities
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says the organization involved approximately 30 people who were involved in the sale of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana throughout Atlantic County for several years prior to the investigation resulting in criminal charges.
The 77-count indictment included crimes of possession and distribution of CDS, unlawful possession of firearms, money laundering, official misconduct, and conspiracy to commit those crimes, among other charges.
Following Strong's guilty plea, he was released by the court on pretrial monitoring pending sentencing. Officials said that while he was out, he was again arrested and charged with weapons and drug distribution-related crimes.
On April 7th, 2025, police executed a no-knock search warrant at Strong's home on W. Riverside Drive in Atlantic City. There, law enforcement found suspected narcotics (heroin), a Glock 9MM Model 17-generation handgun with a high-capacity ammunition magazine, which was reported stolen, hollow-point ammunition, and a large amount of cash. Strong took ownership of the narcotics and the firearm.
Authorities said Strong has prior convictions for possession with the intent to distribute, which bars him from owning guns.
Strong was also sentenced to an aggregate term of 12 years in state prison, with five years of parole ineligibility, and the forfeiture of $9,516 to run concurrently to his first matter.
Strong previously pleaded guilty to third-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, second degree possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense, and second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons back in January.
