A man from Gloucester County has been sentenced in connection to an incident in Ventnor back in 2021.

On Tuesday, 44-year-old David Shields of West Deptford was sentenced to five years in state prison for unlawfully possessing a handgun. He was also sentenced to 18 months concurrent on an obstruction of justice charge.

Shields must serve 42 months before becoming eligible for parole. He was also ordered to pay restitution for the injuries suffered by the officer.
