Busy Five Below store in Mays Landing, NJ, appears to be moving
It appears that a busy discount retailer in Mays Landing will be moving soon.
The good news is this store currently has a cramped parking lot that can best be described as "chaotic" even on the best of days and its new location will be much easier to navigate.
The bad news is if you go to this store to buy cheap candy before walking over to the nearby movie theater (not that we would ever condone such activities), you'll need to come up with another plan.
If you frequent Five Below in the Hamilton Commons shopping center on the Black Horse Pike, over by Red Robin, you may soon have to drive over by Target to buy your Hello Kitty notebooks and phone chargers.
Within the past few days, construction permits for Five Below have been taped to the front of an empty storefront in the Consumer Square Shopping Center (2300 Wrangleboro Road), over by Target and Kohl's. That empty store has been completely gutted and Five Below floorplans can be seen taped to a wall inside.
The new store will be next to the new Norman's Hallmark store, which is also opening soon, between Ulta, Old Navy, Kirkland's, and Bath & Body Works.
Now, we stress that it appears likely that Five Below might be moving, but it wouldn't be totally out of the question that this could be a new, second store in Mays Landing.
That is exactly what Norman's Hallmark is doing — they're keeping their store inside Hamilton Mall (right across the street) open while building a new store in Consumer Square. Dollar Tree, also in Consumer Square, recently opened a new store behind Hamilton Mall. For some reason, companies believe having two stores within a few thousand feet seems to be a smart business decision.
There's no official word on when the new Five Below in Mays Landing will be opening.
