Big drug bust in Hamilton Twp., NJ; Vineland man arrested
A Vineland man is facing charges after police in Atlantic County say they found a large stash of drugs during a traffic stop.
Authorities say just after 2:00 Friday afternoon, August 16th, a Hamilton Township police officer stopped a 2009 Dodge Charger. During the stop, the officer "suspected criminal activity" and a K9 eventually indicated the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly yielded the following items:
- Approximately 366g of suspected MDMA (ecstasy)
- Approximately 32g of crack
- Approximately 18g of cocaine
- Approximately 6g of suspected fentanyl powder
- Approximately .60oz of psilocybin mushrooms
- Approximately 510g of unregulated marijuana
- An air-powered pepper ball handgun
- Approximately $9,000 cash
The driver, a 43-year-old man from Vineland who was not identified by police in a press release, was taken into custody, charged, and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
