Two teenagers have been arrested for allegedly carjacking a delivery driver in Atlantic City this past weekend.

Authorities say the incident happened just before 3:00 Saturday afternoon, February 10th, in the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, officers arrived to find a 35-year-old victim who had been injured during an assault and theft of his vehicle.

The victim was making a delivery when he found a juvenile male attempting to steal his vehicle. The victim was assaulted by the male and a second male who intervened.

The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

About an hour later, ACPD officers located the stolen vehicle in the 500 block of Absecon Boulevard.

They observed two males exit the vehicle and begin to walk away. These males, 15 and 16, were stopped by Officers Ivan Cruz and La’Quay Green and arrested.

The two teens have both been charged with carjacking, motor vehicle theft, and aggravated assault.

The pair was remanded to Harborfields Detention Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
