These Atlantic and Cape May County Teachers are NJ’s Highest Paid

The New Jersey Department of Education has released their latest Taxpayers' Guide to Education Spending which breaks down how much Teachers in the Garden State are getting paid.  Considering New Jersey has the highest average Household Income in the United States and is the third most expensive state for Household Expenses, you may be surprised about the latest details of South Jersey Teachers' Salaries.

The latest state data shows that the median salary for New Jersey Teachers is now $77,943 per year, an increase of $3,768.  That is $14,431 less than the average Household Income in New Jersey ( $92,374 per year) but is still more than the Real Median Household Income in the United States ($70,784).  The latest data also shows that K-6 Grade School Teachers make significantly less money on average ($67,577) compared to High School School Teachers median income ($91,520).

The breakdown of New Jersey Median Teacher Salaries by School District shows that five of the top 20 Median Salaries are found in Atlantic and Cape May Counties. Here is the list of those school districts and where those Median Teacher Salaries land on the state's list of highest Salaries:

*Brigantine City (Atlantic County) is 10th on the list with the Median Annual Teacher's Salary now at $100,351.00 (Increased from $98,739.00 last year)
*Lower Cape May Regional (Cape May County) is 14th on the list with the Median Annual Teacher's Salary now at $98,760.00 (Increased from $95,201.00 last year)
*Ocean City (Cape May County) is 18th on the list with the Median Annual Teacher's Salary now at $97,804.00 (Increased from $93,516.00 last year)
*Mainland Regional (Atlantic County) is 19th on the list with the Median Annual Teacher's Salary now at $96,721.00 (Increased from $92,940.00 last year)
*Ventnor City (Atlantic County) is 20th on the list with the Median Annual Teacher's Salary now at $96,675.00 (Increased from $94,900.00 last year)

Those Median Teacher Salaries are significantly higher than the Median Household Income in their counties: Atlantic County's Median Household Income is $66,473 and Cape May County's Median Household Income is $76,237.

Other South Jersey School Districts on the list of Highest Median Teacher Salaries includes Lenape Regional (6th overall - $102,450), Margate City (26th overall - $96,100.00), Atlantic City (28th overall - $95,879.00), Glouster Township (29th - $95,730.00), Eastern Camden County Region (31st overall - $95,570.00), and Cherry Hill Township (36th overall - $94,369.00).

According to a study published earlier this year, New Jersey Teachers have the seventh-highest Annual Mean Salary in the United States.  Here's the list of states ahead of the Garden State:
