Somers Point, NJ, bar looking for your help to name new outdoor bar

A Somers point institution is looking for some help in naming their new bar.

The World Famous Anchorage Tavern, located at 823 Bay Ave in Somers Point has a new outside bar on their front porch and is looking for your help in naming the bar.

The bar says they have a few ideas in mind, but wants to hear from its patrons before deciding.

Some of my favorite suggestions so far include:

• The Buoy
• Anchor’s Away Bay Bar
• Somers Seaside Bar
• Salty Air Bar

Those were a few that caught my eye, but I have a few suggestions as well.

• The Little Anchor
• The Bayside Bar
• The Hangout at the Anch
• Would you buy me a beer bar
• The Shipwreck Bar
• The Deep End Porch Bar

The Anchorage is part of a vibrant Somers Point bar and restaurant scene, and it hosted our annual 99 Bottles party in 2023. Its the oldest continuously operated business establishment in Somers Point, operating since1874.

Somers Point residents and many patrons from Ocean City, Linwood, Northfield and all over South Jersey visit The Anchorage and in addition to their great food, have another reason to visit the World Famous Tavern on Bay Ave.
