For over 110 years, one of the popular Jersey Shore destinations each summer is located off Garden State Parkway Exit 10. While the City of Stone Harbor was first incorporated in 1914, visitors have been coming to what is known as Seven Mile Island since the first inn was constructed in 1891.

Ever since the Stone Harbor Ocean Parkway was constructed (today known as Stone Harbor Boulevard), the downtown section of the coastal community has become a hub of restaurants and shopping.

Many people were directly and indirectly invested in the growth of Stone Harbor, including then-Governor and future US President Woodrow Wilson, who personally came to South Jersey for the dedication of the drawbridge that connects the mainland to Stone Harbor's 96th Street, where some of the best places to eat in this Shore Town are located today.

10 Favorite Things about Cape May County, NJ

The history of Cape May County predates the formation of the United States of America by about 100 years as it was one of the first counties established in what was originally known as the West New Jersey Provence. Cape May County's historical records go back as far as 1685 and the County was originally established in 1692. Cape May County has been a huge part of my life and that of my family's for decades, so I wanted to share with you my favorite aspects of the southern most County in the state of New Jersey.
