Four Phillies Named Finalists For The 2024 Gold Glove Awards

Even though the 2024 Phillies' season ended disappointingly, this year's edition of Philadelphia Baseball had the second-best record in the National League and eight players elected to the MLB All-Star Team.

This year's Phillies team fell short of their ultimate goal of returning to the World Series. But the team reached the postseason for the third straight season and had several players have impressive seasons.

In the month of October, Major League Baseball begins announcing finalists for their Regular Season Awards.  This week, the Finalists for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award were announced with four Phillies players making the list.

Which Phillies are Finalists for the 2024 Rawling Gold Glove Awards?

On the same days as Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski spoke to the media about the upcoming offseason, MLB announced these four Phillies players were among the best fielders at their positions this year:

1st Baseman Bryce Harper

The two-time National League MVP Award was the Phillies Starting 1st Baseman for the first time in his career. Harper had the 4th most Putouts among NL First Baseman and the fifth Most Double Plays Turned by NL First Baseman.

Left Fielder Brandon Marsh

Originally acquired before the 2022 MLB Trade Deadline, the ring leader of the Phillies' "Day Care" Group played 97 games in Left Field during the 2024 season. Marsh had the fourth-most Assists among NL Left Fielders.

2nd Baseman Bryson Stott

The 14th Overall Picks in the 2019 MLB Draft played his third full season with the Phillies this past year. Starting 127 games at Second Base in 2024, Stott had the best Fielding Percentage of any NL Second Baseman (.993) and the third-most Putouts among National League Second Baseman.

Starting Pitcher Zack Wheeler

The Phillies Ace Pitcher and National League Cy Young Award Contender was the winner of the 2023 Gold Glove Award. In 2024, Wheeler had the Most Putouts of any National League Pitcher (21) and had a perfect Fielding Percentage.
