The Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of another NFL Postseason run with this Sunday being the fourth time the organization has reached the NFL Divisional Playoff round in the last 8 years.

The Eagles' success over the last nine years has led to many Assistant Coaches interviewing for jobs with other teams. Philadelphia's run to the Super Bowl in the 2022 NFL season opened the door for Offensive Coordinator Shane Steichen to land the Indianapolis Colts Head Coaching job and Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Gannon became the next Head Coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Since 2016, the Eagles have lost six assistant coaches to professional promotions with other teams. What complicates the issue more is that since Nick Sirianni became the Head Coach of the Eagles in 2021, he has worked with three different Defensive Coordinators along with three different Offensive Coordinators.

Who Is The Next Eagles Assistant Coach Who Could Leave The Nest?

Eagles Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore has been a name involved in numerous Head Coaching Searches over the last few years. Just last week, it was announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints have both requested to interview Moore for their Head Coach job openings.

But the latest request to interview the former Boise State Quarterback comes from one of the Eagles' biggest rivals.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport have both reported that the Dallas Cowboys have requested permission to interview Kellen Moore for their Head Coaching job.

Moore has a long history with the Dallas Cowboys. The left-handed Quarterback spent four seasons on the Cowboys roster and was a Backup Quarterback. Moore later became the Dallas Offensive Coordinator from 2019 to 2022.

Kellen Moore's success as Cowboys Offensive Coordinator was a major reason why the Eagles hired him for the same position for the 2024 season. The Eagles Offensive success this year has been credited to General Manager Howie Roseman's signing of Running Back Saquon Barkley more than Moore's playcalling.

The Eagles averaged 2 more points per game this season (2023: 25.5 to 2024: 27.2) while Kellen Moore's Offense had the same number of Passing Touchdowns as last season (24). The 2024 Eagles only had 218 more Total Yards than last season.

Moore is one of four men who are in the mix for the Dallas Cowboys Head Coaching Job.  Earlier this week, the Cowboys owner spoke with University of Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders.

Former New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh is reportedly scheduled to meet with the Cowboys later this week. On January 20th, veteran NFL Defensive Coordinator and former Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier is expected to interview with Dallas.

If the Eagles win this Sunday, then Kellen Moore will not be available for in-person meeting with the Cowboys until January 27th.  If the Eagles reach the Super Bowl, then Moore must complete all of his Head Coaching interviews before February 2nd when the NFL enforces all restrictions to Super Bowl participants until February 10th.

If Kellen Moore were to leave the Eagles to become the next Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys, he could earn a place on this list of the Most Controversial Philadelphia Sports Figures of the last 30 years:
