Woman With Ties to Kids Camp Arrested for Sexual Assault With Boy
Carr is a former part-owner of the Rastelli Kids Complex and a former director of Camp Sam, a popular summer program for kids at RKC.
A spokesperson for the camp says she stepped down from her role before camp began last summer.
Court Documents show an investigation began in May 2024 when NJ State Police received a report that Carr had performed sexual acts on a 14-year-old boy multiple times at a park in Pilesgrove, Salem County.
A trooper interviewed the boy and his parents and he said he had a sexual relationship with Carr who had sent him sexually explicit messages and nude photos of herself to his Snapchat account over a period of months, according to NBC10.
Police say Carr admitted to sending the sexually explicit images to the teen while being interviewed. The investigators searched her vehicle and took her cellphone and found evidence which corroborated the teen's allegations.
Camp Releases Statement
A spokesperson for Rastelli Kids Complex says the victim is not related to the camp or the facility, and calls the situation "unfortunate" and "horrifying."
"Since 2007 until these allegations, Tara Carr worked seasonally as part of a larger management team for Camp Sam....
To be clear, these allegations do not involve any employees, campers, athletes or members of our RKC community. The alleged victim in the charging document was not involved in any RKC program"
Carr was arrested and charged on January 9th in Salem County.
