Just in time for Halloween, the Atlantic City Ballet's production of Dracula makes its debut at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Oct. 29th.

Atlantic City Ballet's Dracula on Stage

Dracula features choreography by Atlantic City Ballet Artistic Director Phyllis Papa, adapting Bram Stoker’s story through dance, theatrical sets, costumes, and a dramatic score.

The production is a mix of mystery, suspense, and dark romance.

Although the venue is new for the ballet, Dracula is an established part of the company’s repertoire and one of its biggest successes, with sold-out performances over its history.

“Ballet has a wild side, and ‘Dracula’ really brings it out,” Papa said in the announcement. “It’s beautiful, full of dramatic tension, and a perfect fit for Hard Rock.”

The Story of Atlantic City Ballet's Production of Dracula

Phyllis Papa’s choreography is based on Bram Stoker’s classic tale of Dracula.

Set in 15th-century Eastern Europe, the story follows a young lawyer, Jonathan Harker, who is captured and imprisoned by Dracula.

Inspired by a photograph of Jonathan’s fiancée, Mina, Dracula travels to London and drains the life from Mina’s best friend, Lucy Westenra. Dr. Van Helsing then leads a crusade to save Mina and rid the world of Dracula.

This original ballet, complete with sensuous costumes, theatrical sets, and a gripping score, has become one of the biggest hits in Atlantic City Ballet’s 40-year history,
