Did you hear this fun story recently on local news and radio stations in New Jersey? Talk about being resourceful and turning something that was supposed to be fun into a nice side business with proceeds benefiting the community members in his town.

What am I talking about? The owner of Riptide Bait and Tackle in Brigantine has been making the rounds of local media talking about his calendars - yes, a calendar.

When Captin Andrew Grossman was on with the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, he explained that years ago, he started posting photos of cars that were getting stuck in the sand on the beach.

And that many people found it amusing and suggested that he turn it into a calendar. So he did, and for the last few years, they sell out - usually in a few weeks.

He has a website where you can go and order one. Actually, the website mentions a minimum order of 10 calendars. I'm unsure if this is accurate, so maybe you'll need to gather a few friends to place a joint order unless you want ten yourself.

On the website, I love the description for the 2024 calendar: "Spiral bound 2024 monthly calendar showing fools who thought their vehicle would not get stuck in the sand." Fools— I love it.

It's true, though; we all know that a few adventurous individuals believe their small Honda Accord won't have any trouble driving on the sand every year. As Captain Grossman has humorously captured in his calendars, that's simply not the case.

You can place your calendar order now, and they should be ready for delivery by mid-November. Here's the order link:  2024 Calendar -bcob-2024 (beachedcarsofbrigantine.com)
