It is the most patriotic time of the year in America, and the results are out on the most patriotic states. Is New Jersey near the top of the list?

The Most Patriotic State In America

Before I saw the results of this study, I already had a prediction, and it wasn't a patriotic one. I think the Garden State is getting less patriotic, and that's a shame.

I think our current climate in this state is more negative about our patriotism, so I don't have much hope that we'll be near the top of the list of most patriotic states.

This was an extensive study by WalletHub. They used over a dozen factors to determine each state's level of patriotism.

New Jersey's Results Are Disappointing

I wasn't very optimistic about our ranking in this study, and the data revealed supported my view.

Some of the criteria used to determine each state's ranking included military engagement, veteran engagement, civic engagement, and volunteer data.

The results were very disappointing to me. New Jersey ranks as the 43rd most patriotic state in America.

Our military engagement ranks 48th in the nation. Our civic engagement rank was a little better at #30.

The most patriotic state in the land is Virginia, closely followed by Montana, and the least patriotic states are Arkansas and New York.

I'm hoping we can all take a minute to realize how lucky we are to live with the freedoms we enjoy. They weren't free, and we have a lot to be thankful for and patriotic about.
