As if we don't face enough challenges each day here in the Garden State, it looks like we can add air travel to the list of things that will make our day more difficult.

We already deal with some of the worst traffic in the nation. We get caught in a bad Garden State Parkway traffic jam, and we wish we had a vehicle that could fly over the whole mess and get us home.

Be careful what you wish for. It turns out flying over the Parkway or any other road in New Jersey for that matter might not get you home any faster.

Anyone who has used our area's major airports knows things are not exactly as smooth as silk when it comes to air travel. But just how bad it is may come as a surprise to you anyway.

A recent report at Business Insider was issued about cancellations at airports and which one do you think was the worst? We think you can guess where we are going here.

Newark Liberty Airport, as you might expect, did not do well. Not well at all. As a matter of fact, it's the second worst airport for delays in the nation with 7.6% of lights canceled.

If you think you can drive right over to LaGuardia and it's any better, don't hold your breath. Take one guess which airport is the only one worse than Newark for cancellations? LaGuardia comes in with 7.7%.

Maybe we were all better off on the Garden State Parkway after all.
