Your alarm goes off in the morning, are you refreshed and ready to go? Do you jump out of bed right away or do you hit the snooze button over and over and over again?

If you hit the snooze button, you're going to like the results of this recent study published in the Journal of Sleep Research. I always thought snoozing makes people more groggy, but apparently that's not true.

When was the last time you got 7 or 8 hours of sleep and woke up completely refreshed? Unfortunately, I don't think that's happening for most people living in New Jersey. We're so busy! It would be nice to have a few extra hours of rest, but that's just not the case.

70 percent of the people who participated in the study said they hit the snooze button sometimes. Also, they snoozed for about 22 minutes and fell back asleep between alarms.

Here's the good news, it's ok to snooze for a half hour! The study found hitting the snooze button for that long does NOT cause you to be more groggy or tired! It's even the opposite!

When snoozing, as opposed to when having to wake up right away, I would say that they came to alertness quicker, even though there was no difference in how sleepy or alert they felt subjectively,” the study’s lead author, Tina Sundelin, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at Stockholm University in Sweden, told NBC News.

I hit the snooze button every morning at least 3 times so this is great news!
