Odds Are You’ve Never Heard Of New Jersey’s Signature Side Dish
Nothing makes a meal quite like a good side dish, and depending on what your main course is your side dish could vary.
For example, if you're having barbecue then most likely your side would be mac and cheese, or maybe some fresh coleslaw.
If you're making hamburgers and hotdogs then baked beans are the way to go, and they better be Bush's from the can!
When you think of side dishes that are more local to the Garden State though, what comes to mind?
My first thought is produce; corn, blueberries, and tomatoes are all delicious products from New Jersey.
During my air shift on 105-7 The Hawk, I was talking to callers about side dishes that they really enjoyed and there were a few popular answers.

Mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes were pretty popular answers from people calling into the afternoon show.
Well, believe it or not, there is one side dish that supposedly reigns supreme in Jersey, it's supposedly the most popular side dish in the state.
But here's the catch; there's a good chance you've never had Jersey's signature side dish before.
I've lived in Jersey for years, and this is the first time I've heard about this being the state's signature side dish.
It's a tomato-based dish that features some mozzarella cheese and is supposedly what our state is known for.
So, let's take a tour of each state's signature side dishes, and you tell me if you've ever heard of Jersey's signature side dish.
