To quote Ben Franklin; beer is proof that God loves us. It's the perfect beverage to drink when enjoying sports, grilling in the backyard, or sitting on the beach.

What makes beer even better is when you grab yourself a local craft beer, which Jersey has no shortage of.

We've got awesome spots like Cape May Brewing, Last Wave Brewing in Point Pleasant, and Battle River Brewing in Downtown Toms River.

And of course, there's my personal favorite from the great town of Seaside Heights, Heavy Reel Brewing.

Beer experts recently released their list of America's 15 must-visit breweries, and I was surprised at the brewery they picked for Jersey; none.

Not a single NJ brewery made Chowhound's list of the best breweries in America to visit, but there was one that made the list not too far from Jersey that is a perfect day trip.

This PA Brewery Is The Perfect Day Trip For NJ Beer Lovers

According to Chowhound, Troeg's Independent Brewing in Hershey Pennsylvania is one of the best breweries in the country for beer lovers to visit and tour.

Its proximity to Hershey Park, one of the best theme parks in PA, makes for a great day trip; you can do a few beers and ride rides or vice versa.

Troeg's Independent Brewing is one of the more popular craft breweries in the tri-state area too, especially during the holiday season when they release their Mad Elf beer.

A hefty 11 percent ABV dark Belgian Ale that'll have you singing Christmas Carols in your boxers faster than you can say "May I have another?"

Chowhound also recommends when you visit Troeg's to take the brewery tour as it's touted as one of the best in the country.

And if dive bars are more your thing, Jersey does have you covered.
