A friend of mine posted this question to Facebook, and it sparked my interest. Who pays for the date in this situation?

Traditionally, men ask women out on dates. Call it status quo, or whatever but it's believed to be the man's job. Hell, there's Cosmo articles on how to get a man, for this exact reason!

As tradition follows, MEN also are the ones responsible for picking up the bill at the end of the date. With this being said, if a woman asks a man out on a date,, IT'S HER JOB TO PAY! Now hear me out.

When I was younger, I invited my friends to come with me to Six Flags. My mother was furious, and I couldn't understand why. She explained since I had invited them, it was now our responsibility to pay. Her exact words were, "the one who invites, is the one who pays." From then on, I always carried this with me.

Of course, it doesn't apply to EVERY situation. For instance, I wouldn't expect my friends to pay for me if they invite me somewhere.

BUT in the dating world, I would like to think it applies. If a man asks a woman on a date, she expects him to pay. Right? So, naturally if a woman asks a man out, she has to pay.

This goes without saying, there's nothing wrong with a woman paying on a date or going Dutch. I've done it, you've probably done it, it's 2017.

But for the sake of answering the question, she pays.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Comment below!
